Collocations

What is a collocation?
This is a relatively new grammatical term. What I mean by that is that it wasn't taught to me when I was learning English in School 👴😊! This is partly because we were just a decade or so after the British Raj! So, for the most part, we just got used to using some words together!
Which is what a collocation is; "words that are used together by native English speakers". Some common collocations are :
1) A person with hair that appears yellow, is called a person with 'blond/blonde" hair depending on whether it is a male or a female. We do not call them yellow-haired!!
2) We say that people make mistakes not do mistakes.

These are just a  few of the various types of collocations. Will do more blogs on them later.
